Apple Pie
We home canned the apple pie filling using local apples. To ensure that the filling remains moist and gooey, we don’t use the popular method of lattice top. We make a unique crumble top that uses oats to give this pie an extra crunch with a delicious flavor!
All of our pies are made the old fashioned way. We use lard to make the crust just like they did for 100’s of years! It is the true way to achieve that smooth but flaky crust. The lard was locally produced by our friends down the road at Palisades Point Pasture Pork.
